Often times stress will manifest when we carry over yesterday’s concerns into our present day concerns. An accumulation will almost always end up in a high stress level. Therefore, we must be able to “dump” all of our concerns from the previous day or days and concentrate wholly on our today.
Stress Busting Tip #1
Resolve right now to release every thought from yesterday and be only mindful of the now… this thought only… this breath… this moment. Take in three very deep breaths and slowly release each one.
At the same time feel each and every concern, each and every problem, and each and every unresolved moment, begin to dissolve. You can deal with them at a later time. For now, you are only to be in this very moment.
Now go to your inner quiet place. Go deep inside to a place where you feel that you are at peace and then just relax and breathe in deeply and enjoy the feeling of being at one and at peace within yourself.
Use this special time and place to be calm. Free your mind and body of all worry, all regret, all disappointment, all anger and grief.
Stress Busting Tip #2
Next, think of one particular act, such as rocking your baby, taking a quick stroll, raking the leaves, and do that one simple thing. All the while, your mind is quiet and calm and you are in your own special place within.
Practice this act of quiet and calm each day and you will see that you will accomplish so much more. At the first sign of being stressed, go back to this mindful, quiet place and start all over again until you have reached your inner place of calm.
Stress Busting Tip #3
The very best thing that you can do for yourself is to eat, drink and rest – to your health!
Stress is easily brought on by not eating and drinking properly. When you don’t get the number of hours of sleep that you need each night, you are only setting yourself up for additional stress.
Limit the amount of salt, sugar, caffeine and alcohol in your diet. Drink plenty of clean, pure water each day and do at least moderate exercise each day. This will breathe new life into your skin, hair and will nourish all of your vital organs.
Take time to breathe properly! Take deep belly breathes to send pure oxygen to all of your body.
Laugh and then laugh some more. It is food for the soul! Spend time doing the things that please you most. Engage in healthy and fulfilling relationships and work on problems that would erode the closeness that you have with someone special.
When we are content and living a balanced life everyday stresses seem to pale in comparison. We are better equipped to deal with the unexpected.
Stress Busting Tip #4
Often times when we have too much stress in our lives, we want to just give up. We must always hope for something better! When we give up our fight-or-flight seems to just fizzle and we become caught up in a maze of one unfortunate event following another.
You can take control today! Isolate only one particular stresser in your life and then work on it until you regain control. At the very least, have some new hope!
Being hopeful is a quiet confidence that eventually, all will be well. Write out a plan today about how you will tackle just one major problem in your life. Write it out step-by-step. Make an action plan about how you will tackle each of those points.
Slowly, as you begin to work on your problems, you will start to see that there is hope for a brighter tomorrow. You must believe that, otherwise, you will feel defeated before you even begin.
To actualize the hope you feel, sit in a comfortable chair and close your eyes. Take your mind to a place that pleases you and begin to feel every one of your muscles begin to relax. Command each muscle to relax. Constrict and then relax each of your muscles.
Have a beautiful picture in your mind. Imagine you are a part of that beautiful picture now and imagine that as you work on your problems you will become that beautiful picture. Your life will become that beautiful picture.
Sit and relax, deep breathing, seeing only that beautiful picture. See all of your most pressing problems resolved. See how you will work to resolve each of your problems.
When you sit up from your relaxed state, write out how you will tackle the problems you have just imagined.
Now, go about doing what you have written one step at a time. The ability to relax, meditate, imagine and plan to resolve a problem is a proven stress buster. You can take control of each and every problem in your life that causes you undue stress.

As a woman, I have often sat in a group, each member of which seemed bent on proving that she suffered more physical effects of stress than the others.

There are other effects of stress on women, however. There are the physical effects of stress that is positive: the effects of eustress.
In the remainder of this article, I want to concentrate on the effects of stress.
Physical Effects of Stress on Women When It Is Eustress
Eustress is positive, beneficial stress. This is the stress you feel when your hard work finally results in a promotion. It is the stress you create when you respond with laughter and intense euphoria to a marriage proposal.
The physical effects of stress on women when that stress is eustress are beneficial, health-giving effects. To understand that line of thinking, we need to look at the meaning of the Greek roots of the word.
The word “eustress” and the word “euphoria” have their first two letters in common. The Greek prefix “eu” indicates a state of happiness. This prefix is one of the basic Greek elements that we need to know to understand much of what we read.
The Greek prefix “eu” refers to that which is good, well, and normal. Words that carry this prefix normally refer to things that are happy and pleasing. For example, “euphoria” is defined by Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary as “a feeling of well-being or elation” and is said to come from the Greek prefix “Eu” and the word “pherein” meaning to bear. Euphoria is a good feeling experienced when you bear things happily.
Dividing the word “eustress” into its two syllables, “eu” and “stress,” we find that eustress is good, well, normal (eu) stress. Eustress makes you feel good. It makes you euphoric, joyful, merry, and exhilarated. It creates laughter.
A proverb from the Holy Bible has recently been proven scientifically true. That proverb refers directly to the physical effects of stress on women when that stress is eustress.
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” The Holy Bible, Proverbs 17:22.
That proverb contrasts eustress and distress. It points out that, on the one hand, eustress, shown by a merry heart, is physically beneficial. Distress, on the other hand, is detrimental to physical health – it dries the bones.
The physical effects of stress on women, when that stress is eustress, are improved health and vitality. It prepares our physical bodies for the manual work they must do. It prepares our minds for decisions and cerebral work.
Two men by the names of Frank Churchill and Larry Morey wrote a little song that featured in Walt Disney’s “Snow White” film. Morey’s lyrics to “Whistle While You Work” extolled the benefits of eustress. They urged that “when there’s too much to do (a stressor)”, you shouldn’t let it bother you. Rather, wrote Morey, it is smart to whistle while you work. It makes time fly.
Physical effects of stress on women, when that stress is eustress, are beneficial. Women have increased strength and vitality with eustress. Their immune systems are better able to fight off disease. They tend to enjoy better health in every way. They have better physical balance.
While eustress is not a guarantee of safety from disease, its physiological effects do promote better health.
The Choice Is Yours
Many women believe that they have no choice in the matter, but we do. When meeting unusual demands, we can choose to respond negatively (distress) or positively (eustress). We can choose a “merry heart” or a “broken spirit.”
In other words, the physical effects of stress on women are determined greatly by women’s responses to the demands life makes on them.

Did you know that stress can be deadly? While most of the everyday stress experienced from time to time by most of us is not dangerous in and of itself, prolonged periods of stress have been known to cause serious health problems.

Although there are many techniques that can and should be used to effectively deal with stress, one that helps nearly every time is improved dietary nutrition. In fact, some people find that dealing with this one area of their daily routine completely eliminates their stress. In situations where the stress is caused by factors other than current dietary habits, maintaining a healthy diet is mandatory to prevent further damage.
So what exactly is proper nutrition and how does it relate to stress? Nutrition provides the body with various vitamins and minerals which have certain effects on bodily functions. Mood, which is certainly related to stress, is controlled by a chemical released in the body called serotonin. It is crucial that this chemical remain in proper balance or mood fluctuations will occur, resulting in greater stress levels.
In order to maintain a balance of serotonin it is wise to include healthy carbohydrate selections as well as foods rich in tryptophan, an amino acid used by the body to produce serotonin, in the diet. Examples of healthy carbohydrates include brown rice and other whole grains, sweet potatoes, squash and green veggies such as broccoli. Turkey is one of the best sources of tryptophan with eggs and nuts being good choices as well.
If we are honest with ourselves, we know what we should be eating. Make a conscious effort to include several fruits and vegetables with each meal and consume plenty of lean protein, whole grains and fresh water. Avoid things like fast food, sodas and sugar-laden foods. In the event you do eat one of these less desirable choices, take note of how you feel after eating it. You’ll undoubtedly find that you don’t feel quite as well as you do when your plate includes healthier selections.
That is not to say there is no place in a healthy diet for the occasional treat but such foods should be eaten in moderation and combined with more healthful foods to minimize the damage they cause. When eaten in combination with better choices they will not have the harmful effect on mood and stress levels as they would if consumed on their own.
While diet by itself will not solve every issue related to stress, it will provide a foundation of strength with which to fight back.

As you work through the tasks, you will gain greater satisfaction from the progress you are making and what you may have first thought of as a stressful, daunting task becomes much more manageable.

7. Talk things over with others. The old saying can be true – a problem shared is a problem halved. Talk to your partner, friends or relatives about what is causing your stress.
8. Get involved. Participating in voluntary work or in projects within your community can be a great way to combat stress.
9. Take a break. Give yourself time to relax by reading a book, watch a movie, play a game, listen to music or take a relaxing holiday break.
10.Get active. Any form of physical activity such as gardening, home improvements etc. is a great way to reduce stress.
11. Try to Compromise. Don’t always try to come out on top of a situation. It’s much less stressful to give in occasionally and avoid a confrontation.
12. Don’t aim for perfection. Always trying to be perfect is an impossible target that can bring on a great deal of stress. Ease up a little and see your stress levels reduce.
13. Avoid criticising other people. This type of behaviour can be very destructive and stress inducing.

Once you start to identify and reduce the triggers that cause stress, though, you will have less stress and an easier time dealing with it.
Something you can also try to de-stress is to use methods like massage or even therapy to help reduce stress and learn how to deal with it. You can try these things as a couple, which can bring an additional bonus of bringing you closer together.
Stress in a relationship is natural. You will always be confronted with stress of some kind or another. It is how you deal with it that is the most important. You have to be able to control the stress and not let it control you. By letting stress get out of hand you are going to start losing your relationship. Stress can be incredibly damaging but it doesn’t have to be.
If your relationship is full of stress then you know what you have to do. It is all in your hands. You have to reduce the stress so it does not take over your relationship and start causing harm.
